I’m officially on maternity leave!  Some of you may not know this but we are expecting our third little boy in just a couple of weeks! While this is a very busy time for photographers as an industry whole, it is the beginning of fall wedding season for us wedding photographers.  This maternity leave is one that I have personally struggled with; having to turn away a total of 6 brides because their wedding date was too close to my due date and now that we are going to be welcoming him a week early very glad I set a limit on myself.

While I will still be tending to back of office matters (inquiry emails and correspondence with current clients) I will not be shooting any sessions or weddings until October 8.  That weekend I will jump back into shooting mode and will be shooting 4 weekends in a row.  With a total of 7 more weddings this year, between my own and second shooting for a colleague I will be busy but I have promised that I will still remain very present in my home with my kids and family and that I will not over do it.

I have learned that I need to set some boundaries with my business and that, I fully intend to do once “Baby Gus” arrives!
