God Is Still Good

September 22, 2015

Filed in: Personal

There has been something on my heart a lot lately, something that I feel compelled to share with you all because I know that there is someone else out there who is just like me.

The last few months have been a season of immense transition for this small business of mine.  Moving a successful business in the middle of my most successful month to date to a completely different state and having zero business and then moving to another new state and starting over essentially-has been a roller coaster to say the least.  I have gone through all the emotions.  Happiness, sadness, excitement, fear and self doubt just to name a few.

I have been thinking a lot about my circumstances and the stage in life that I am sitting in right now and I began to realize that I cannot compare my beginning to someone else’s middle.  I cannot look at another photographer who has been in business for 8 years and doesn’t have any kids to myself- a business owner of three years, mom of two small boys and a nursing student.  My plate looks very different than the next photographer’s or small business owner.

I also began to realize a few things…

If I don’t fill my mini sessions this fall- God is still good.

If my business doesn’t become as successful as I hope here in Maryland- God is still good.

If I don’t reach my goal wedding number for 2016- God is still good.

If I don’t book another client- God is still good.

In the end no matter what, I have a supportive husband and amazing children.  I have been blessed by Him so abundantly and no matter what happens, win or fail- God is still good!

and if not, God is still good | Brittney Livingston Photography

Now Please don’t think that I am throwing in the towel. I am simply recognizing that He is good in all situations and all outcomes!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

  1. Thank you for your words of honesty and sincerity. I’ve been going through a season of major change. I’m still trying to get to the point where I can jump in to my business full time, planning on buying a home, having to move our business elsewhere from it’s current location and the enemy is just throwing everything in between our way. It has been a season of new things, not all good and I’m trying to constantly remind myself that God never gives us more than we can handle. He will never leave us. He will never forsake us. Instead, He encourages us to be strong, courageous and disciplined in His ways (Joshua 1:5-9). Thanks again and I’ll be praying for you in this season of transition.

Oh girl. This is good. So good! It’s exactly what I needed to read and how I’ve been feeling. Thank you for the reminder that no matter what the numbers are looking like, He is still good and my family and friends will still love me the same even if I only have two 2016 brides.
    You go girl, thank you!

Amen, sister. Never doubt that! I know He will guide you and lead you through this time. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, or encouragement from someone who completely understands your situation–I’m always here! Be blessed! <3
