Birth Photography, its been around for a very long time but is only recently gaining popularity.  It is such a special time for a family, and I personally LOVE Birth Photography.  Having a child is such a radical life changing experience and to be able to document such experiences makes my heart so happy.  While I did not have a Birth Photographer for either of my boys’ births, other than my husband, I sometimes wish I had.  Being a Nurse myself, I thought of both of my births in more of a medical point of view rather than a photographic one.

I am so happy to now be opening up my schedule for Birth Sessions, with expectant moms due  September 1, 2015 and further out.  I am happy to be a Northern Maryland Birth Photographer and will be servicing clients delivering from Baltimore- Northern,Washington DC- Annapolis- Columbia.

If you’re curious how the process works on my end for Birth Photography, its rather simple.  Once contacted by an expecting mom, I like to set up an in person or over the phone consultation so we can discuss everything from your birth plan to when I show up at the hospital or biting center to when I leave.  Once you have booked me for your due date, I am essentially on call for the 4 weeks surrounding your due date, beginning at 37 weeks and through 41 weeks.

When you go into labor you will let me know when the doctor has instructed you to go to the hospital.  Once you have reached 6cm dilation I will come to the hospital to meet you and be with you until you give birth.  This may take 1 hour, this may take 8!  Once you have delivered I will stick around for about an hour for the medical staff to do the baby’s first measurements and capture those special firsts as well.  Once that is done I will get a few images of your new family and be on my way so you can settle in.
