This family is very special to me. Not only are they my actual family, but they are some of the nicest and most generous people you will ever meet. They have been graciously allowing my boys and I to stay in their cottage in Williamsburg, VA while A is at school in VA Beach. This has allowed us to be able to see him on the weekends, which anyone with kids can attest to, is invaluable!

The last time I was able to photograph them was at my Aunt’s Retirement Ceremony from the United States Navy.  It had been a few years since they had had actual family portraits done and what a better time than now! I was so thrilled when she asked me to take them and I thought that Colonial Williamsburg was the perfect setting for them.  Not only is the history of Colonial Williamsburg so fascinating to me, with the beginnings of our amazing country starting here, but it is so beautiful.  Colonial Williamsburg offers so many different location options all within a short walking distance from one another.  The classic architecture and pristine gardens at Colonial Williamsburg made for a beautiful backdrop and the lighting on Sunday was nothing short of amazing.

How could we not get a couple of my cousin all by himself, he is shaping up to be quite the young gentleman!

Everywhere you turn there are beautiful lush gardens at Colonial Williamsburg.  I could barely resist capturing most of their session in one garden or another.
